Denk’s sophisticated energy is evident in his “entrancing” take on the Goldberg Variations (NY Times) paired here with two books of études by György Ligeti, famous for scoring Stanley Kubrick films; these intricate, rarely-heard works (1985-2001) are among the finest piano compositions of the 20thcentury.
