###

Violinist Jennifer Koh is recognized for her intense, commanding performances, delivered with dazzling virtuosity and technical assurance. With an impassioned musical curiosity, she is forging an artistic path of her own devising, choosing works that both inspire and challenge. She is dedicated to performing the violin repertoire of all eras from traditional to contemporary, believing that the past and present form a continuum. Across this stylistic spectrum, Koh maintains her “insightful, richly hued playing” (The New York Times) and her “impetuous, bright-toned phrasing” (The San Jose Mercury).

Program

Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D Major, op. 61
Schubert: Symphony No. 8 in B minor, D 759 (“Unfinished”)
Weber: Overture to Euryanthe.

Presented in collaboration with the Duke Department of Music. Made possible, in part, by a Visiting Artist Grant from the Council for the Arts, Office of the Provost, Duke University. Jennifer Koh's public conversation is a part of Talking Music: Conversations with Scholars, Writers, Archivists, and Artists, co-sponsored by Duke Performances and Forum for Scholars & Publics.
