In Conversation: Rahill Jamalifard and Lenny Lynch of Habibi

Wednesday, April 3, 2019 | 12:00 pm

The Pinhook

Brooklyn-based rock band Habibi has made a name for itself through an infectious juxtaposition of surf pop and riff-heavy punk. In this free lunchtime conversation at The Pinhook in downtown Durham, Habibi frontwoman Rahill Jamalifard and guitarist Lenny Lynch join Didem Havlioglu (Duke Asian & Middle Eastern Studies) for a wide-ranging discussion exploring the band’s influences and embrace of Persian culture.

Habibi’s residency, part of Duke Performances’ ongoing ‘Building Bridges: Muslims in America’ initiative, will culminate in a full-band performance at The Pinhook on the evening of Thursday, April 4. Tickets and info available HERE.
